On October 1, 2023, Lt. Angelo AJ Lapanna passed away after a courageous two and half year battle against stage IV cancer. AJ served almost twenty years with the Middleborough Police Department and twenty-three years in the United States Army National Guard, first as a Military Police Officer and then as an Army Special Forces soldier. AJ will forever be remembered for his bravery, compassion, dedication, infectious energy and, most importantly, his love that was felt by anyone fortunate enough to know him.
On May 27, 2024, Team Total Package, a title AJ jokingly bestowed upon himself, will be running the Boston Run to Remember in honor of AJ’s memory. Team Total Package will also be raising money in support of the Thin Blue Ride, an amazing organization that provided so much assistance to AJ and his family during his battle with Cancer. The money raised will go directly to the Thin Blue Ride to help the organization continue to provide crucial assistance to military and first responders battling cancer.
